Easter Blessings

Last year, at this time, the kids and I were driving in a car that was in very poor condition, badly molded inside and the roof leaked (or I should say down poured) every time it rained. I often tried too drive with the windows down to let the fresh air come in and when it rained my son literally would use an umbrella inside to avoid getting wet on the way to school. It did get us to work and school but needless to say we were in desperate need for a newer vehicle. We prayed almost on each car ride, and especially when it trained, that God would help us to get a car that didn’t leak or smell. I had $2,000 saved and our goal and prayers were to have a newer vehicle by Easter which was only months away. I knew it would take a miracle for us to get something better than we were currently driving with how little I had saved but we kept praying! I did my best to research cars and look for a good deal but I was so lost and did not know what to do on my own.

A month before Easter, I had what I call a very divine appointment in the hall at Venture Church. I crossed paths with Annie Iskandarian, founder of Maintenance For Moms, and her husband Ashot. During our conversation the topic of ministry came up and she shared about her organization and what they do, shortly after she recalled that I was a single mom and asked how my car situation was. My heart was smiling as I could feel God moving in that hall.... He was setting us up, I could feel it! I shared our current situation and the small savings I had... plus how lost I felt on my own. She said that she could help and that is exactly why she founded this company, I left with so much hope.

We emailed back and forth for a few weeks and I was filled with more and more hope as I heard of sponsors getting involved, people that I didn’t even know, that wanted to help and contributed money to our next car. I felt so very loved, God was taking care of my family and he was using Maintenance For Moms to do it!

The week before Easter Annie and Ashot wanted to meet to go over some final details for the car sponsorship.

We were talking in their driveway when suddenly I looked up and saw a Nissan Xterra driving toward us with a big red bow on top, the same car the kids and I wanted most. My heart was doing back flips and I just jumped up and down... He did it, He did it... God provided us a new car..... and right before Easter.

The kids and I are so grateful for this ministry and the obedience of Annie and Ashot to serving single mother’s. This generous act has provided so much more than a warm safe ride, it has provided love and built our faith even more on how much God cares about us.

God bless Maintenance For Moms and all of the generous sponsors that contribute to this ministry to love families that are in need.

With love and gratitude, Monica
