“Maintenance for Moms came into my life when I found myself in a place I never thought I would be. I was walking through the end of a difficult divorce. My genetic illness had progressed into disability and I had recently taken a fall.” Jessica was disabled, navigating a divorce, and the provider for her daughter. Things were very difficult, she often felt overwhelmed; especially with finances. Jessica’s mother always told her, “It always works out, God will work this out.” She tried hard to walk in that faith, and leaned into prayer.
God is able to shine light into the darkness. “I found Maintenance for Moms while walking through that darkness.” Jessica had been given a Maintenance for Moms card from a dear friend and she mentioned they helped with routine car maintenance. Jessica tucked the card into her purse, almost too nervous to call and ask for help. Her car was in need of routine maintenance, and then stopped working altogether! Leaning into her faith, she prayed and asked for God's guidance. “I put my faith into him and asked him what I could do.”
God is able to make all grace abound to you so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. (2 Cor. 9:8)
With her friends urging, Jessica reached out to MFM for the repair. “[MFM staff] were beautiful, kind, and helped me more than words can say. They developed a beautiful plan for me - to bless me and another mom at the same time - and provide us both with reliable, perfect, transportation and care! God’s and Maintenance for Moms’ timing was perfect!!! They provided proof of God's love and that He has given this ministry for single moms.
