No job requires more than being a mom. Especially as a single mother, the demands to work, provide, and transport children are even greater. That’s why it is our privilege to relieve one of these critical burdens: safe and reliable transportation. Maintenance for Moms is a program dedicated to assisting single moms by subsidizing their vehicle repairs in Santa Clara County.

“Single mothers have a very special place in our hearts.”

- Annie + Ashot Iskandarian Founders of MFM

In 2016, Maintenance for Moms was birthed out of an auto repair software startup, Shopmonkey Inc. in the Bay Area. The founder and his wife, Ashot and Annie Iskandarian, felt deeply compelled to integrate their faith in Jesus Christ and to express God’s love for single mothers and their children. Both Ashot and Annie have deeply personal connections to single mothers. Annie shares her story:

Single mothers have a very special place in our hearts. Before my mom met my dad, she was a single mother with twin baby boys, trying to figure out how to make it. Life was very hard and exhausting.

Her life changed when she met Jesus and He changed everything about her. Jesus gave her hope and the Church came around her. In years to come, she met my father and they have been loving people ever since; telling them about God’s love for them. My husband and I want to be a continuation of this story of God’s grace by helping single moms in a very tangible way: providing reliable and safe transportation for their families.

The Iskandarians’ are committed to giving Shopmonkey Inc. profits and raising money to help single moms pay for their vehicle repairs. Shopmonkey Inc. and Maintenance for Moms partner together to do their part to love on this very particular and deserving group of women.
