Riding the Bus

Take a moment to read how our program changed Bridget’s life: “Before the Maintenance for Moms I was riding the bus (if and when I had money) to my Mothers house to take care of her with my infant son and if I had an appointment or interview I had to also use the bus system with lots of prayer to make my appointments on time. I have severe arthritis in my right knee which makes walking a long distance almost intolerable at times and with a diaper bag, stroller and infant some days I had to pray my hardest for strength to make it through my day or even just my morning. By the sheer grace I was given the name of your agency and my life has forever transformed, my daily prayers for strength have now been changed to prayers not only for strength but gratitude for our blessings via MFM. I am so grateful for having a car to help me in so many ways I could not begin to name them, not only have I benefited from my gift but I’m able to get my mom to her appointments more comfortably, I can take my son and her places on the weekends so they can enjoy the outdoors without the hassle of the bus.

Your agency has been my biggest blessing for the 2022 year and I could never thank my angels Robin and Kathryn for lending an ear when I was feeling broken or just praying with and for me. These ladies, perfect strangers, made me feel ok, not alone and hopeful, they let me know that angels are real and that there are still people who have hearts and care. I could never thank them both for their time and kindness so I will continue to pray for them and the power to continue to help women like myself.

I pray that MFM continues to receive the funding they need to help more moms in similar situations like mine. It’s really hard to know how badly some moms need a miracle in their lives to make a difference and help in their day to day needs. Not having dependable transportation can make a single mom's life close to impossible and leave them feeling desperate, defeated and all hope lost. Giving a single mom a car opens so many options for not only her but her children too. Work , school, special programs, support groups, after school activities and the biggest of all is SAFETY she can pick up and drop off her kids knowing they don’t run the risk of so many dangers our children are faced with on a daily basis.”
