The Power In Prayer

A Bay Area native, Bianca found herself struggling to stay in Santa Clara County when she became a single mom. Juggling bills, work, caring for her family, and dealing with the added stress that life had thrown her way, life was challenging.

When her 1997 Dodge Caravan broke down and she wasn’t able to get to work, Bianca felt discouraged and overwhelmed. Bianca was a full-time retail manager who was unable to make ends meet. The cost of a car repair, or the possibility of having to buy a new car was overwhelming.

Bianca found Maintenance for Moms and applied for help. Her van was taken in for an inspection. The mechanic said Bianca’s car was irreparable; she needed a new one.  Maintenance for Mom's software partner, @shopmonkey.io and their employees stepped in to raise the money so that MFM could buy Bianca a new car. Bianca and her daughter have reliable transportation to get to school and work; one less stressor in their lives to help empower them to keep going strong.

Here’s what Bianca said about her experience with Maintenance for Moms:

I may talk to friends/family about life and things going on. It never involves having anyone pray for me out loud like [MFM] did. And sometimes though I may talk to HIM, I wonder if He hears me and I become discouraged, but talking to [MFM] only reminds me that HE does hear me. Not only with trying to meet my needs with repairs or services, but by meeting someone to pray with me if even for a moment. It does make a difference."
